yeh that gasket goo from toyota is designed to fill in gaps,ive used it to seal cork gaskets on a lc torana (showing my age) and it never leaked again, if you have another go find a piece of glass sit sump mounting face on it and sus any gaps , check to see if its cracked, then use a tin of contact cleaner or the like , and clean it all of spotlessly that toyota black stuff is good regards mick
