Dave, no need to apologise. I agree completely. I would rather check the belt to be on the safe side, and IF it's looking even slightly dodgy, why take the risk. And the fact that the early ones are a non-interference design ain't gonna help you much if you get stuck in the middle of no where at 11 o'clock at night. Fine if you're just poofling round the burbs, but a pain in the posterior if you're undertaking a 1000km plus journey.
