It's not the rubber seal, it's part 16321 the plastic housing, the part came with a thin paper gasket i could put on with that part.
I ended up taking the gasket off before i refilled with water, i thought it would be best. Hopefully it seals. I should have bought a proper toyota one but i bought a new alternator too so just got it all from the same website. Looks exactly the same except the plug on the alternator was the wrong type. Ah well hopefully i can find somewhere open today that can sell me the adaptor
