Just buy a new seal ( part # 16325 ) that goes around the thermostat as that is what does the sealing for the housing too & will fix the leak so long as the new plastic front cover you bought is straight & not warped, unless you know how little silastic to use it could have bits left on the inside which can come adrift & go through the cooling system, not ideal ...
