Sorry mate, EGT stands for exhaust gas temperature. It rises unnaturally if unburnt fuel passes through when the exhaust valves open, it also rises with ignition retard.

Probably bits of cat. converter lodged in the resonator restricting one side a little as suggested. U'll find out on dyno day i suppose :-)
