In the top bar menu, clicking on Posts will show you a lit of all new postings since you last checked. This feature only works for registered members as otherwise the system can't track when you last checked.
In the left column, also signifies new posts, and if you click in the left column rather than on the actual topic, the post will open in a new window so you don't need to use the Back button to return to the list.
