Actually....
Funnily enough I found a lot of information on splitters and flat front undertrays from the most unlikely of sources- eco weirdos. It seems this is one of the very rare occasions when racers and enviro-nazis have the same (well similar) goals. The reduction in drag from the splitter and undertray are beneficial to fuel economy as well as outright speed and grip. Google "eco mods/modder" and have a look at some of the sites that come up. Good news is they are very happy to share their info as well.
