I have.

I decided against it for two reasons:
1. Some events require working headlights, brakelights and blinkers etc to be in 'street class'.
2. On the track there is a lot of debris (rubber, stones etc) that is picked up by the following car. All this material would find it's way direct to the filter, shortening its life.

As it stands at the moment there is a good flow to the filter and it is boxed off creating a high pressure area. You can see the filter from the front bar as I have pulled everything out of the front area I didn't need.

I am looking at the entire front bar area again now I am in Darwin. I am considering doing something like V8 supercars and having a single boxed in opening with ducts to coolers/airbox/brakes. There was a picture further up.

The hope here is I'll tidy up front aero, improve cooling efficiency, and create free front downforce with the huge flat area (splitter and undertray) for all that high pressure to act on.

I have also looked at punching a line of holes in the bumper cover (all that remains) with a hole saw.
