This was on the open practice day, so it would either be the circuit owners, or the Sporting Car Club SA who appear to run the majority of events at the circuit.
I understand venues have their funnies, but I really get frustrated when they aren't grounded in common sense, and looked at on a case by case basis. The rules in CAMS (warning: my understanding of CAMS) were written in response to blokes grabbing their 2kg handy cam and zip tying it into the car somewhere. Clearly has the potential to cause serious injury.
The Gopro and several other purpose built camera systems are very light weight, around 100grams and have mounts that can withstand many G's. The exact figure for gopro escapes me.
