BUT....

Before you do that read the CAMS Manual or the regs of just about any motor sport event that you may want to compete in.

You will find they call for rubber valve stems and metal ones are illegal. Don't want you in a fight with scrutineers, do we?

The reasoning is if you "rub wheels" with another competitor, it is better to rip the valve stem off and the tyre deflate at a reasonably steady rate, rather than your metal valve stem tear a great hole in the next bloke's tyre and cause it to deflate quickly right when it may be under the most load.
