I'll see how hard it is to find metal ones. The road car has metal valves (maybe it is a Jap thing). The green Supra rims have rubber, and as you say, they worked fine.
Just be a bit of a shame to start hacking into the Desmonds. They are the most exotic wheel I ever owned. (well I did own some Work Equips that came on the Rx-7, but I hated them and sold 'em for about $100. I wish I'd taken the time to find out what they were...)
