I wax the plug between 4-8 times and then spray it with PVA. As far as I am concerned, PVA is a guarantee of release.

Once I have made the mould, I wax that as well, probably 4-5 times as well as spray PVA prior to laying up the part.

Fixing cracks should be easy, but the waviness might take a bit of effort. Might need to use bog and sanding, which adds weight back on again.
