SPent the day at the track. Car ran pretty good with the plugs gapped right down, but it really needs to be sorted in the long run.
In the first session I was basically just shaking the car down. I still bettered my PB with a 1min19.0s so that was a good start. The car was very loose in the rear. I didn't go flat through the kink, and had both lift off and power oversteer. I need to run a string around the car and check that my 1mm rear toe is in not out. I am suspecting it is out.
Second session, no changes, the car ran a 1min18.4 seconds. Still loose in the rear.
Took a pound out of the tyres for the third session. On my first flying lap of the third session I heard a knock or tap from the motor. Pulled it straight into the pits and it is definitely coming from the engine, likely from the head. That ended the day before it really started. The car would have run 1:17, because the optimal lap of session two was 1:18.0 and the track usually grips up as the day goes on.
