assembly lube is great for assembly but generally only for bearings and such... when I rebuilt my engine I just drowned it in oil before I started it. I didn't worry about cylinders and such as my oil pressure built up really quickly (a couple of seconds of cranking at most)... It helped that my oil pump was in pristine condition (we were pretty amazed) despite the engine not having been rebuilt before; sometimes you get lucky i guess.
