I was referring to your "minor mods" as being somewhat incomplete as well as being a digression itself.
I think a stock V8 would be in trouble against a basic Commodore or Falcon away from the lights. Stock V8s do not beat 15 sec quarters according to the records we have here. Tuning them up around150+rwkw gets them moving. That is about where TTs start.
