You're right Ben, this topic has been covered many times.

In essence, the low beams are problematical, unless they have been changed when complianced or through SEVS. Some early ones were changed to 9006 (HB4) apparently while others appear to be 9005 (HB3). Ours is a personal import and so was not changed and takes the Soarer-unique 9005J which requires mods to a 9005. Take your existing globe(s) out and see what's written on them, as a first step. If they are Koito brand they might be 9005J.

Both HB3 (9005) and HB4 (9006) are readily available at auto parts shops. The mod to a 9005 to fit the 9005J space isn't difficult, just a pain. A Dremel-type tool is very handy, and having a 9005J to compare to is extremely helpful. The connector is also different, so you either need to modify the lugs inside the globe's connector section, or change connectors to the same type as the high beams (which on ours are straight 9005 (HB3), I've discovered).
