I found out something new. A while ago there was a post regarding fitting UZZ30/31 Air con compressors to a Uzz32. I cant find the post, but it seems this has been done to mine.

It seems the 32 compressors are around an inch and a half longer then the 30/31 Compressors, due to the extra layer of belts for the 32 hydraulic pump.

Anyway the shorter compressor means that there are only 2 bolts holding the compressor, the third one at the rear doesn't line up.

This has resulted in a harmonic at partial throttle at 5ish thousand RPM.

This led to one of the bolts breaking the other day and the compressor just held by one bolt, which gave a much worse harmonic just off idle when accelerating gently to casually.

It is a bit of a pain removing the compressor, but luckily the bit of broken bolt was able to be wound out with a nail as there is very, very limited tooling at mum's house. If not it would have probably been a remove the big support at the front of the engine kinda job.

To top it off I then had to find a bolt in the town of Maldon, (population under 1000) on new years eve. Luckily I found one in an old scratch box at the local mechanics.

Now to jig up something to hold the rear of the compressor in place.
