I've got a spring compressor you could borrow, it's not that hard to do, but I think you should find the exact problem first. I've even got some standard TT springs if they fit.
Jack car up, remove wheel, undo sway bar (allen key). Try to compress spring, if it doesn't fit, take the shock off the car and try again (note at this point you may need a massive vice.)
