Hi everyone,
Bare with me, this is a long one...sorry :-(

So this is my story. I have a 97 UZZ31 that I imported myself and has ran beautifully for months. The suspension height and TEMS worked great!

A few weeks ago, my girlfriend was driving the car (Don't ask why...) and she hit it into a poll trying to park it. So you can imagine the bang wasn't very hard. She was going slow and the damage was all external. The car hit just in front of the front driver side wheel. The panels were bent in but looking from inside the bonnet, you'd see that’s as far as the damage went, so it wasn't very deep.

The panel was bent on to the wheel so I thought I’d life the car with the height switch inside so i could just drive the car home but It didn’t work and i got the "Air suspension" error on my dash.

I left it at that and sent it off to insurance (Me excess is $2400! I hate Just Car but wasn’t insured anywhere else). Anyway, after fixing my panels, they called up and asked what was wrong with the suspension and I just said it wasn’t working because of the error message and the buttons that don’t work anymore. Now according to them, their mechanic said there were no signs of damage on the suspension so now the insurance company is complaining that the accident had nothing to do with the suspension and that they sent it off to Toyota but couldn’t plug the ECU in to their computer for diagnosing it because it’s an import. And apparently Toyota told Just car, these suspensions fail all the time (Real professional, right?).

So now Just Car is refusing to fix it unless I can find the problem myself and prove how it was caused by the accident.

I have booked the car in at Sports & Luxury Cars (They seem to have soarer experience from what their website shows). I called them and they said they don’t need to plug it in, they can just short circuit the ECU and get the binary codes then translate them and find the error. So I’m going with that for now.

It's been two months since the accident and I know insurance companies will have you jump through a million hoops to get what u deserve but this is rediculous! It should be their job to find the problem and fix it, not mine!

Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated! Any ideas as to what the fault could be would also be a great help!

Cheers,
Hays
