Replacement is relatively easy, an hour or so all up.
Don't know what they're worth.
Mine cost $220 to rebuild I think (was when I first got the car and I didn't pay for it).
Check for dirty/high resistance contacts in the plug. I have seen that several time and it would cause just the symptoms you describe. Replacing the plug would be a lot cheaper!
