I put the car into a transmission workshop and they said they couldn't work on it until the problems with the trc is gone. They then advised me to go to an auto elec. to sort out the problem.
I went to the auto elec. and they said they wouldn't touch it because they don't have the right equipment, and therefore have to bring it to Toyota.
I brought it to Toyota and they said that they could have a look, with no guarantees that they'd be able to find anything due to the car being a grey import. I don't really want to waste $90 for them to take a look and not find anything.
I ran the onboard diagnostics on my transmission and traction control and got the following codes: Transmission: 68 - Short circuit in kick-down switch Engine: 41 - Throttle position sensor signal Traction: 45 - When idle switch is ON, main throttle position sensor signal is 1.5V or higher
Is the transmission kickdown error caused by the TPS, or is it a separate issue? Also, How much am I looking at for a new TPS, both for parts, and installation? Can anyone recommend someone to install a TPS around victoria, preferably around the western suburbs?
