Nah, the title of the thread is "are timing belts overdone", if you want to talk about bearings and water pumps feel free, but you'd either have to agree or not that each of those components are either overdone or not.

In fact adding those in because you'd want to do them all at the same time leads to greater credibility to wanting to do the timing belt anyway as then there is less overhead in total (double doing the taking off the belt, which requires removing the fan and potentially the radiator).

I'd never under-replace the waterpump though, it's one of the most common things on a 1jz or 2jz soarer to have issues. I'm a little fuzzy on the 1uz waterpump. Maybe it's better. It's sure different.

But a service isn't the core point we're discussing.
