No they didn't charge for the bits they gave back, we have put back together just to get a idea of physical size(obvious bits not returned in the guts of the alternator).Another mob said they can get us a new unit for $350 so have ordered, it comes with a oval plug hopefully I can get/make a adaptor cable to my round plug ( as per an earlier thread)so with a bit of luck should be back on the road in a day or so
