Accessories: | Stereo now complete - Eclipse 12in 500wRms sub driven by pioneer D class 600wRms amp, Eclipse front 5in splits (behind door)eclipse 6in in parcel shelf. Both sets driven by 4channel kicker 200.4 amp. So far a very nice sounding setup. With the pioneer head unit having separate sub outputs and ability to change frequency gains to speakers and sub individually, and not to mention the crossovers built into the amps, I've managed to get all speakers working quite well. Normal 6in speakers cutting in at 150hz, 5in and tweeters at 200hz with the sub happy from 40 to approx 225hz. Must say the single eclipse sub kicks shizzle through the dual 12in sony explods I had. In the boot I have a gold plated fuse block I bought from jaycar with a tidy little mod - I've fit blue led's into the base and I've done the same to the mounting brackets for the 1Farad capacitor and the primary fuse in the engine bay - all have blue leds |
Modifications: | Head unit is inside the glovebox and I've left the original stereo where it is. I did try it in the dash but it looks ugly and out of place. I've also modded my dash to have all white led buttons and red lcd screens. The Speedo bit of the dash is still original colour however the lcd in there is Red and i've changed the warning led's to white - very nice effect. Foot well, door 'open' lights all changed to red Cold Cathodes. Cruise Control limiter removed. Installed 16 and 12inch thermo fans on rear of radiator after harmonic balancer threw off and smashed EVERYTHING from front of engine to radiator and air filter to battery. BFI intake mod, TurboMX boost controller (manual T piece p.o.s.) |
Planned Modifications: | Keep the same color Pearl White on the top half (upwards from the crease that runs from front to back on the side) but want to do the bottom half in a Cardinal Red (same metallic red that the 93-94 ford falcon came in). Decent weight reduction. strip it back to bear panels pretty much (which will involve removing my much loved stereo). Suspension and huge brake upgrade - get the weight and handling right before the performance is done. When performance time comes, I'll hopefully get a 1J manual long motor (manual) and rebuild it. convert car to suit manual and take it from there. CF Bonnet, CF doors (and lambo style hinges), CF boot and CF 1 piece front end will come but not for a few years. Oh hang on.......... SCRATCH EVERYTHING I SAID!!!!! Wife is now pregnant so we **MUST** sell my beloved Soarer and get a Commodore or Falcon. As I'm told "A good cheap 'dime-a-dozzen' aussie car - cheap parts and any mechanic knows how to fix them" |
