my active has a clunk/thud.when i am travelling slowly, less than 20mph say, when i let off the gas pedal totally then i get a 2 stage thud from under the car as if the engine is moving to a new position over 1/2 a second via 2 thuds, its difficult to describe..
car has brand new engine mounts and gearbox mount is as new,it could very well be coming from the prop or rear diff area.most of the time i get a hefty clunk when selecting reverse and another sometimes when then going to drive.
i have tried slackening off the line pressure on the box, made no difference at all.any ideas where i can look as its driving me nuts now!!

no i havent and i am starting to think thats exactly what it might be...it doesnt clunk until maybe half a second after i let off the gas,i think a worn bush would clunk instantly,it could well be a clunky downshift.i think i will do the fluid and see what happens..
thanks

Sounds like excessive backlash in the drive-line somewhere.
