14:There are 3 grey plugs which where connected directly to the back of the EMV unit, The two plugs to the right, 1 large (26 pin) and one small (16 pin). The 3 mods are, a grounding of PARK BRAKE wire, The NSS wire needs IGN power and the SPEED SENSOR wire needs to be run through a switch (optional). The switch allows the safety system to operate if required. Cut the PARK BRAKE wire (BLACK pin 5 small plug) and run the plug side to ground. Pin 13 or 26 are grounds on the 26 pin plug (WHITE/BLACK TRACE) a small piece of wire is required.
15: Cut the NSS wire (BLACK/YELLOW TRACE) and run the plug side to IGN. pin 25 is ign on the larger plug (BLACK/RED TRACE). A small piece of wire is required.
16: Cut the SPD wire (PINK pin 13 small plug). Insulate them well. If you want the safety circuit to work I suggest a small length of twin cable and a toggle switch in the cup holder. Join the wires up and the safety circuit works.......GET IT???!! "
Ok guys Im not much of an electrician, infact ive never worked on electrical circuits at all Im in a completely different field working with people (med). can anyone explain some of these terms that are above keepin in mind im a complete newbie when it comes to this sort of thing!
things i dont understand: "run the plug side to ground" "run the plug side to IGN" "NSS wire needs IGN power"
things i do understand: "cut"

The Japanes override kits have a number of problems. Sometimes the trip computer functions don't work. If you have a reverse camera fitted it may no longer work. They are overly complicated for the job required. The mod on the ALSC FAQ site is easy and never has these problems. Simply cut three wires. One of the wires then goes to 12v . Another goes to Ground. The third is left cut. Easy.

Cut the NSS wire (pin 3 small plug) so that there is enough length still connected to the small plug to run it to pin 25 of the large plug. Cut the black park brake wire (pin 5 small plug) leaving enough wire on the small plug to run it to pin 13 of the large plug. Cut the speed wire (pink pin 13 small plug) and leave it cut.
So in the end pin 3 of the small plug connects to pin 25 of the large plug....and pin 5 small plug goes to pin 13 large plug. Pin 13 of the small plug goes nowhere. The original connections to pins 3,5 and 13 of the small plug are no longer connected.

The wires from pins 3 & 5 of the small plug are joined to the existing wires on pins 13 & 25 of the large plug. The existing wires are stripped back a bit just before they go into the plug and then the wires from the small plug wrapped around the bare part, soldered and taped up.
ok one last question, hope im not bothering u guys that much!
i assume with the pin numbering system. you look at the connector with the side that has all the wires coming out of it (not the side that connects into the emv)?
top row is the row closest to the clips/grooves on the uppper edge of the connector?
pin1 is at the top left corner and the last pin at the bottom right?
and by the way which side is the plug side? when u cut the wire is it the portion of wire thats still jutting out of the grey connector or is the portion of wire coming out from near the front of the car?

So i did this mod, but when i start the car, the screen still cuts out. I put a switch in so it can be enabled again, but even without the switch it cuts out. Any ideas?

Ok got it done. BUT the switch to enable the safety feature doesn't work.. Even if i connect the pink wires together it doesn't turn off the screen.. Any ideas on this one? Any other way to disable the mod with a switch?
