Cleaning my car out today, and realised i need a really good leather cleaner, want to get the leather back to its former glory.
The leather on the rear seats on the top have gone pretty hard, i want to get a good conditioner to try and soften it a bit as well, ive been continually rubbing meguiars leather conditioner into them but it dosnt seem to be doing anything.
So whats a good quality cleaner and conditioner that does a good job?

thats what ive been using and it dosnt seem to be doing squat at the moment, put a good bottle through the rear seats, rubbing it in, leaving for a day and repeating, so far no good. Thought for the price it should be better.
Shame that the previous owner didnt look after the leather, when he personally imported it he got it retrimmed, about 7 years ago, but he never once applied conditioner to it, hence the hardened rear leather under the rear glass. Theres nothing wrong with it, other than the hardening, so i would love to get it atleast back to a slightly softer state.
Ive heard baby oil works at penetrating and softening the leather up, but i would think it would leave a oily residue all over the seats.
Also what is a good leather cleaner? Something that will get in there and get rid of that engrained stain that accumulates from clothing etc?

I find that Neatsfoot oil works great. Same stuff they use on horse saddles and other leather goods. Can't sit in it for a while to let the oil absorb into the leather. Love the smell of it too, (but my girlfriend hates it).

In terms of cleaner, you can't go past.....Fast Orange hand cleaner: it will get EVERYTHING off the leather. BUT you need to moisturise it heavily afterwards. But it works.

I used the auto glym cleaner and it works a treat. I then applied some laecol that can be purchased from the link rob provided earlier. It seems to work well but I guess only time will tell.

well ive cleaned and conditioned my leather with the Gliptone products. AWESOME stuff. Really got the colour back into the leather and it has that new car leather smell now. Going to continue to give the harder parts of the leather treatment and try and get them back to a good softness. But so far its working a treat.

interesting, might have to pick 1 up see how it goes. Gliptone worked a treat i must say, highly recomend it, few more treatments and the leather should shine again

I used BMW leather conditioner. Its $49 bucks but it works big time.
I was a Sales/Accessories consultant at Brisbane BMW not long ago and I had people coming in from other car yards and even performance shops hunting this stuff down.
My seats were all crusted like ya mums bum, now they're silky and moist like your girlfriends...

For off the shelf product the Meguiars Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner is good stuff. But if you want products that you cannot get off the shelf you can try waxit http://www.waxit.com.au scroll down to leather care very good products or you can go to Final Inspection http://www.finalinspection.com.au/store/ which Daniel Lee already posted up.

There's a product called Leatherique. Try this link, http://www.ppc.au.com/leatherique.htm this stuff works really good. I only used the rejuvenator oil several times and it made a big difference to the dry leather seats, you could actually see and feel the difference, great sh!t

I agree. Leatherique works very well. You need to buy the oil and the cleaner, which costs $80 or so for 500ml bottle. You will need to apply the oil and leave for at least 2 days in the sun with the windows up. Then clean off with the cleaner. Highly recommended.
