"I'm not sure about all fabric, but this stuff LOVED super glue! Seriously, it cures in a second and does not soak through to the other side unless you totally drench it. "
Word of warning guys, don't get too over zealous with super glue on fabrics like suede/leather/nubuck etc. I have worked with a mate in his shoe repair shop and we saw soooo many shoes repaired with super glue. It will harden the material and turn it brittle so be carefull, otherwise your lovely new leather dash could look all cracked like cheap vinyl. Use contact adhesive for best results, preferably one designed for shoe repairs/leather.

yeah i used contact adhesive ... didnt like the idea of using lots of super glue but did test them out and didnt find any problems with it hardening/becoming brittle but it comes down to brands etc... But I would test on a spare fabric before ever using it on the actual trim pieces
Hehe.. speaking of shoes i tested the contact adhesive by fixing the sole of my shoe, before using it on my car .... it worked a treat so I figured it was good/strong enough for the car

Nice work Sami.. Looks great!
I had no idea this thread was still going!!
Oh, and regarding the super glue, I used it on the rear of the part I was covering to hold it in place. So as long as it holds, I am happy.. I used loctite brand.
I didn't use it on the front at all. Everything just pulled taught when i stitched it up..
It's all still intact and had survived a few encounters with a vacuum cleaner.. It's pretty hardy stuff..

Well as some of you already know i am the new owner of Tai's old V8. I thought id keep you all posted on the progress of this interior. So far the door trims have been fully converted to black, whilst retaining the existing suede trim.
The carpets and all dash have been dyed black - courtesy of VHT satin.
I am awaiting my new spruce leather rear seats so i will install them upon arrival. All i need to do now is dye the front seat bases black and decide upon a colour for the seat leather.
Everything else is still there (minus the TomTom, which was stolen by Patricks freight on the way over from QLD to Perth)
Pics coming soon
