I'm just wondering if anyone has attempted to retrim their seats themselves. I don't mean buying the covers and swapping them over i mean making th covers as well. I'm just curious as to how hard it would be. My stepdad is trying to convince me it wouldn't be that hard. i wanna change my seats as they are well and trully aged, like a decrepit old man.

Yeah i've seen the ones you can buy and swap with the originals. I just don't know if they're worth it, if it's just better to take to a trimmer, or if i should have a crack at it myself. I don't wanna screw them more and have a trimmer at me for making their job harder when i decide to take it to them 'cause it's too hard. Either way mine are well and truly fubar'd

Well this type of work is quite different from what I'm used to, but luckily I know a couple of people that do this so I'll get them to put it together(bonus of working in the airforce ) because I know I'd balls it up. Maybe someone on the forum does this or knows someone near you who can give you some tips or do it David?

I would be confident in saying the seats and door pads in the Picture are not factory leather, they look like Vinyl and they could even be the replacement covers as mentioned earlier, even the stitching looks poor quality. If your happy with the standard colour just buy a full set of 2nd hand seats. Should pick a good set up for around $300.00.

If your going to buy the covers make sure you get the real leather ones from Ebay US not the Pleather ones from Australia. A bit more Expensive but easily worth it.

Yeah the doors aren't factory, they are vinyl, I re-covered them. I was actually thinking of recovering the seats from scratch. I know it would be easier to pay someone else to do it but i like challenges and like doing things myself. I'll keep a look out for the replacement seat covers. I didn't know the Aus ones weren't leather. I couldn't have been paying too much attention.

Yeah I know the seats vinyl, I work with a lot of leathers and vinyl and i don't ever recall seeing leather with a knitted fabric backing. I'll look into the seat covers. Thanks for the info.
