I use this set up when ever I need to use the sat nav system...bloody great set up... folds away into the glove box.. cost $800.00 and has a bunch of other features...sure beats the shit out of spending $3000.00 on a intergrated system

No Juzza...the one I had in Wagga was a loan unit, a huge Nav Man which stuck on the windscreen and almost killed you if it fell off as it did on the oh so smooth road back from Wagga...Yeah Right!!

I've seen a lot worse. There is a bit of evidence of the screen going cloudy in the top left corner and a few dead pixels. Not too bad at all. Get the capacitors changed before the cloudy area gets bigger.

Does anyone know the price - 2nd hand or new for an EMV without any dead pixels? Is the dying pixel problem fixed up in later models? mine are a bit like daniels but thank god not as bad as jasons.
Also with the sat nav, does anyone know of a unit i can plug into the EMV and at least pretend that its integrated?

Answer to last question is "many". I have the Blaupunkt and other kits will do the same. There was a spare switch spot next to the Air Purifier switch under the dash to the left of the steering column so we put the infra-red sensor there where it is pretty discreet. The unit itself is attached to the underside of the passenger seat with the CD inserted from the rear (careful people!) and the GPS antenna is under the carpet on the rear shelf and unnoticeable. It works well.

Sorry guys i know its kina a late reply to the post but hey lol...saves putting up a new post
My question is basically the beginning of the thread, but im more interested in the process of getting the in-built GPS system converted from Japanese to Australian without having to attach stuff underneath my seats and what not
In simple terms...isnt there any way you could convert it into Aus. standards by changin the chip in the in-built system or re-programming it or something????
