edward if you can afford it buy a TT. I love my TT best car i have ever owned. I recently cracked 700kms out of the 78L tank! Spend the money on a clean soarer you can quite easily buy a dog and throw money into the abyss.

you know every time i do a bit of reasearch I fond out something new to complicate things even more

Just discovered there is a single turbo w/ VVTI and a twin turbo model, and just when i thought I had everything figured out....
so how do they stack up against the TT? should i steer clear if i find a cheapie single turbo (id rather get TT if it performs better)

Can give you a rock solid quote mate.

My soarer useto be insured 3rd party with just car. $431 (with f+t). So looks like your quote was on the money.

Im 22 with no major driving offences.
Drive a TT soarer. When you get yours, do the woodgrain and leather swap out of a v8 donor. IMO, the best of both worlds. Power and luxury.

Hmm isnt woodgrain optional even in TT versions?

Haha i saw your thread over at OCAU and before i could reply they locked it!

Well now that everyone has pretty much covered what i was going to say, the only thing left for me to comment on is that magazine article - sif cant spin the wheels on a stock V8!

hahaha yeh bloody admins. got banned for a whole day because they didnt like a joke i made in one of the for sale threads (Someone was selling a puppy, and im like $15pp

BANNED)

They lock all of the topics i make about vista and i was a bit peeved my soarer thread didnt last....

is nick sciflyer there as wlel, sounds familiar =)

BTW My AU6 falcon spins the wheels on LPG, so whoever says you cant spin the wheels on a V8 soarer is obviously some commodore fan who cant stand the quicker V8 competition haha

Daniel, come and compare your seats to mine next time we have a cruise. I know Callum's are a bit different so I think yours will be too.

You won't be in the market for a single turbo VVTi - they are late '96 on only, I've never seen one even in NZ for $8000, and things are much cheaper here. You might find a TT that someone has single big turbo converted already, but for that price I'd steer clear.

Nah Luke, I know they are different. Mine are different colour, and the pattern on them, it doesn't have those stripes sawn into the bottom of the seat, it's just all flat. But the actual material that is used to cover my (and Callum's) seat is velour.

The fabric (whatever it is) has a very different feel to it though Daniel.

Call it whatever you like, its a lower quality.

I wouldn't say lower quality, it's velour of some other sort either way. You gotta admit that it is more resistant to stains then the other Limited-spec seats coz it is darker, or maybe my seats are just so well kept, who knows.

Well I've owned cars with both types of velour, and as far as I can tell the only difference is the striped seats with nets are electric and the other are manual. Both feel much the same to sit in and provide about the same amount of grip and support, and wear much the same (based on my current car now being a similar age and milage to what my UZZ30 was when I got it)

I've seen a '96 VVT-i turbo in NZ for $14500, and that was an auto I believe. A manual '98 VVT'i went for $18500 in NZ last year, so probably $30K in OZ. But if you had the moolah it would be the ultimate choice. Think flat torque curve...
