Jan, well said and best wishes with your rehab. You've a painful road ahead, but at least you're still around to walk it and didn't take anybody else out

Have to agree somewhat with Stephen there - it does piss me off when people hoon up our quiet suburban street with two schools on it (happens all the time as its a long, straight uphill street) But its good that nobody, including Jan was badly hurt.

I think Jan made it pretty clear what he now understands, so we can afford to be happy no-one else became involved and that he is alive to know better and to pass the message on. Therefore, he has my best wishes for a quick and full recovery.

Good to hear you are on your way to recovery Jan, and am glad to read you have learnt from your mistake.
In saying that i think that i can safely say that all forum members have had brian exposions/acted like fools at times, either exceeding the speed limit massively (well maybe not 178 in 50 but hey), driven drunk or taken uneccessary risks... i know i have contributed my fair share in my earlier days of driving when feeling invinsible.
so yeah, get well soon dude, and say hi to Mic for me!

I drove around the back end of lake Taupo a few years ago (when they used to have to sign post speed cameras) in my UZZ30 - a very windey, little travelled road of slightly over 100KM, and the speedo didnt drop much below about 130 all the way - many times up onto the limiter, tail out with full oposite lock many times. Looking back it was really stupid - but damn it was fun too.
