The weekend has landed !

Wanted to give the interior carpets a good clean tomorrow.

Anyone got any good advice on the best carpet cleaning products or methods ?

Best off taking it out of the car which is pretty easy (remove seats and console) then just hit it with some degreaser or CT18 and then with a high pressure cleaner.

I got mine professionally cleaned along with the seat. Mine have never been dirty but im a perfectionist with my car. Plus i dont like that fact of sitting on something covered in someone elses dead skin haha From memory its about $400-$500 but comes up nice, i get it done for $350 as they have done my car when i bought it, then a few months back and ill be back there again shortly as i cant get my car back together without it been dirty again.

Chances are the Professionals did it exactly as described above.

Why on earth would you pay that amount of money for just the seats and carpet?
A full professional detail should cost no more than half of that, inside and out.

I hire the Britex cleaning machine from the local Woolworths for 24 hours. It be around $60. It's really good value considering in the past I have used Electrodry to come and do a quick clean which I was left unsatisfied. They charged $150.

I've always used Upholstery cleaner warm water & soap.First i spray the carpet or seats depends what i'm doing as i said i spray the upholstery cleaner on and leave for about 10 mins. Then with my bucket of warm soapy water and a nail brush with soft to medium brissels.I then scrub the carpet of seat with the nail brush and water and soap.I dont go over board on the water/soap but i'm not shy with it once i've scrubbed the seats/carpet and i'm happy with it.I get my wet and dry VAC and suck all the water thats on the carpet or soaked into the seats.Beleive me it's always worked and came up great! and on a nice day once finnished leave doors open or unwind all windows and it'll all be fully dry in acouple hours.I used to go to my mates as he had a detailing business and use his machinery when i could'nt bother putting the albow grease in.
THERE ARE SOME CARS WASH'S AROUND KNOW THAT HAVE STEAM CLEANERS/CARPET SHAMPOOERS I KNOW THERE WAS ONE IN CRAIGIEBURN VIC.BUT NOT TO SURE NOW I'VE SEEN ACOUPLE IN QLD,NSW & ONE IN PERTH

All i can say is if you want to done right go and see a detailing place that does it. It should not even cost much some are around the $50 mark for carpets and seats to be steam cleaned.

As for a full professional detail inside and out it really depends where you go to get it done... You can pay from $100 upto god knows... It really depends on the place and what they use etc... Theses local $30 buck jobs stay away from unless you want your car covered in silicone...

I am a detailer by trade but if i need things done that i dont have the time for i dont mind paying for good work...
