There was a "Special Edition" 6 cyl Soarer that was made for a brief period, that had some odd "Add ons".

In days gone by it was very common trade practice (in NZ anyway) for new car dealers to slap some pin stripes and a "limited" sticker on a car they where trying to run out, maybe chuck a tool kit in or something, if you're lucky, and try and palm it off as a special model.

Bill B. - does your passenger side lock "click" but not unlock or is there no power to the solenoid at all. Mine actually "clicks" but just doesn't open. Only just started doing it.

Bill,
The plugs are behind the door trim. Then you have to peel back the plastic sheet over the door entry hole.Their down on the lower right in the hole,I presume the smaller plug is the feed to the left door by key lock/unlock.

There actually was a "special series" of TT Soarers run in 1992.
Known as the "Black and White Series", they all had the chrome window trim.. and the options Daniel mentioned on the last page.
All the same options with grey interior. 100 of them had white exterior, 100 had black. (200 made total)

They dont even have flipping ABS!

I have a theory, they are the "Racing bred" version.. since every other manufacturer has an "R-Type".

Yep, I like your theory there Callum, they were one of the lightest Soarers out of factory so basically would be the fastest stock right? So yours and mine are even more rare than I thought, 1 out of 100 for you and 1 out of 100 for me hehehehe. Yay!!!
