Are we here again?? There is nothing wrong with the eye candy pictures. You see more skin in a Womens Weekly than you do on those girls. If you can't view that at work, what can you view?? Any other forum will have something that offends someone, people always get offended by something, whether it is a comment or a picture of a car. Girls and cars go hand in hand. If girls don't belong here then how is it that they are so popular at cars shows or car magazines?? Bloody wowser's!!

As I said on another thread.. when pics of me were posted they caused a bit of contraversy... Nothing against all the guys on here who like the eye candy. but I'm here because of the car, the soarer. That is the only reason.. I'm thinking we all send in pics to Peter and have pics of our own soarers as eye candy.. and pics of our selves with our soarers as eye candy. I'm trying to not to say that it offends me.. but the more and more it is becoming an issue, the more and more its kinda beginning to bother me. Sorry if that seems rude to anyone on here.. I'm not trying to step on toe's or tell anyone anything is bad.. but come on guys...

Obviously never worked for the government or a university then?
I dont really care for the Eye Candy either... i mean some of the girls are hot but its a car forum, its not like theres a shortage of chick pics elsewhere on the internet...
Plus every time i click on an interesting one the wrong pic comes up!

Well except for the fact that 90% of the eye "candy" isn't really nice sweet candy at all, more like sour old brussel sprouts (or something else that you might find disgusting to eat)

I more worry about those blokes who's wives give them grief for looking at a car site with a few chick pics.
These women have a complex or what?
Nothing wrong with the grid girls Pete. Hand in hand with performance cars.
What we don't really need here are those great pics of those sheilas posted up over the past few days in the other thread. Great to see good tits and ass but we can find that anywhere and we are here for the Soarers. Those chicks were great (and I may have saved a couple) but not related to cars like the grid girl eye candy is.
Keep up the good work. Slip the occasional Soarer into eye candy along with the grid girls and keep em all happy. (Except for the occasional wife!)

This subject is going to be an all or none for ppl. Some wont be happy with only soarers on the eye candy. And some wont be happy if you keep the girls up on the eye candy. It doesnt seem like there is any way to keep everyone happy. Best bet, try to find an option for those of us who dont want to see the eye candy to be able to turn it off. Or find an option of being able to want to see girls, or cars. I just dont see a way to keep everyone happy about this.. there is really no way EVERYONE will agree. Me personally, and nothing against anyone. I would like the eye candy gone. It never bothered any of us before when we didnt have it. We are here to see and talk about the cars... and for all the guys here, yes, its totally possible to find whatever you want to look at on the net in other sites and such. Women and cars do go together.. but I'm getting sick of looking at them and would ask if you atleast take them down until everyone comes to a decision we can all deal with on here.

Call me an old wowser if ya want, but I can't be bothered with the Eye Candy bollocks AT ALL!.
As Reepa's said, there are a crap load of other places to loiter on the web if ya wanna look at da women.
One of the things I liked about the old ALSC forum was the lack of extraneous glitz, and I, for one will be quite a happy little sausage if/when the Eye Candy becomes a user delete option.
I found this forum to be very stable, even with the java water applet. However because I am running extensions on firefox I found one of the extension has issues with that applet, but now it is gone, my firefox is fairly stable.
But from experience it is generally a pc that haven't been optimised you will find issues. I don't use IE so I wouldn't know if those problem exists in IE browser's. I'm actually looking into porting my desktop's OS to linux now that I will be getting a laptop (the laptop will be natively running Win XP and my desktop will run linux + virtualization software to run Win XP).

I agree with Don.. it can be an OPTION.. but not something that has to be looked at. I only run firefox.. when I used Internet Explorer with this site I had problems.

Callum, I don't recall other people having your problem, which could suggest that your PC has some nasties on it which may have embedded into IE, such as the type of things that some of my clients have had happen after browsing porn and wares sites. Not suggesting that you do of course, but running a handful of anti-trojan/spyware type programs may help clean it up a bit.

What happens when the wowsers go to the beach or swimming pool? do you walk around with your eyes shut, or look the other way when some girl walks past in a bikini? There is more offensive rubbish on the news than on this site. Get a life!!

I run firefox peter =P
I have tested quite a few things.. -An old build of firefox -Most recent build of fx -With and without extensions -Mozilla with the same tests above -IE6 -IE5
All of them had the same problems; the browser just closes. No debug errors or error reports. I was trying over a series of different pcs as well.
I am confident now its not the water applet thingy up the top, as with java extensions disabled the site still runs quite oddly.

The different is(if you don't understand) that on the beach you expect to see that, on here you are expecting to see Soarer or maybe other cars.
If you have been a reader of SC for any period of time, you will know to expect some girl pics
Just as for a car forum, we also have jokes, a lot of banter, a lot of off-topic stuff which all goes towards making life a little bit more enjoyable - usually.
It's just the way it is.
To all: If everything was done to the letter, non-car stuff deleted and frowned upon, it would be a very boring and dead place indeed. As some forums are.
This subject has been done to death many times, I have explained my position and aims many times, so how about we all just move on?
If you have tried in on an array of pc, then there is a good chance those pcs aren't in suitable parameters for your tests.
I could run soarercentral fine at home and work, and on an array of different pcs and they run it fine. Not too sure as you did provide a pretty comprehensive means of trial and error to eliminate any problems.
I sometimes find Win XP does not always place programs in the taskbar. It may not be down there but if you use Alt+Tab you will find it is actually running as a process in the task manager. I don't know if you know of this issue but maybe this happends?
Also when you were testing, did you open with any website/software which may cause interfearance with your testing? It would be worth while trying to eliminate this problem as I can see it being very annoying as you may be doing something and BANG it just shuts itself off. Hope you find your solution. All the best.

I went to a girls 21st last nite and there were no less than a dozen absolute STUNNING girls drunk and not wearing much. If only i could upload some of the photos i took ?

Nope. For starters, you would be posting most likely without their permission. As far as I know, all the pics I have used have been shots already available on the Internet, and mostly the subjects would have been aware that photographs would be taken and used for publicity or promotion.
