Okay have used the search words 'Time & Pump & Suspension' with no results.
After switching between Norm and High on the gearbox surround panel I have found that it takes 20 seconds before either the pump activates or the air is released. Is this a normal waiting period while the computer makes up its mind what to do or should the air bags pump up or down straight away. Has anyone else noticed a delay? It may be normal for all I know but I am just curious.
Also in all my searching Mark Paddick had mentioned the following " I would check all the sensors first and adjust the system pressure up a bit (2 turns of that adjustment should be heaps)" - can someone tell me where this adjustment is to increase system pressure?

Brett, 20 seconds sounds about right for the pump to start or release air. Have also noticed when car is parked, and engine running, air will release as soon as I open the drivers door. It looks like the Air Suspension Computer could be connected to the courtesy light circuit, if so, could an open door while driving prevent the compressor from working? I think Mark was referring to the relief valve on the solenoid assembly. 2 solenoids in the boot and 2 solenoids with the compressor. Hope this helps.

As above, mine also takes 10-20 seconds to pump/activate air pressure. As you adjust pump for quicker pumping and release procedure, it has to work harder and hence youll hear more farting and panting.

Hey Damien, I ended up undoing the height sensor rod and manually moved the rod up and then down to ensure the height sensor was working fine (which it seemed to be) then slight adjustment of the rod height and all appears good!

Thanks Gregg. I did see that in my searching but Paul Drane seemed to think that the guy with the Celsior may have burst an airbag by using a larger compressor.
I am currently looking at replacing the whole system with aftermarket air bag struts. These can give full drop or full height in 1 to 2 seconds. These basic systems can move each corner individually or all over the place but will not go back to exactly the same height each time which would play havoc with the tyre wear due to incorrect wheel alignment.
The only problem with this is I want 3 settings
1. Superlow - dumped when parked
2. Normal ride height (so wheel alignment specs can be maintained for tyre preservation)
3. Speed Hump and Driveway clearances.
There is an option for a controller that will allow 3 main user settings (exactly what I want) I think he said this was about US$790 extra.
There are a few aftermarket systems around but the fact that our cars require struts seems to bump up the cost.

Okay so after a little more reading I am hearing bad things about airbagit products although there is no real explanation of what exactly is bad about them. Has anybody heard any good or bad things about them?

My understanding was that the suspension computer tries to keep the car level at all times.
So, when you get into your car there's more weight on the driver's side making that side lower. The computer detects this and pumps more air into the driver's side struts. When you get out of the car the driver's side is now higher than the passenger side, and so it releases the extra air to bring the car back to level. I don't think its got anything to do with the door light switch.

Correct me if I'm wrong anybody, but don't all the doors have to be closed for the system to move the car up or down as a safety precaution? From my experience, the car won't move up or down until the doors are all closed... Same thing as on my old man's previous LX470 4WD.
