Hi Guys,

I am in the process of getting my SC400 Roadworthy in VIC and have been advised that I need new ball joints. I have been told that they can't get them anymore and that I have to buy a whole new Arm. Is this true or is there somewhere that will sell them still. Or is there another model whose parts are interchangeable? e.g. the LS400?

Thanks

Thanks for the advice Peter. They past the car as it was for roadworthy so I will leave them be for now. The car is handling fine so won't look at replacing them just yet. Having said that I am getting rid of the struts etc and replacing them for coil overs. Peddar's have a complete kit for $2000 fitted but just wondering if there is anyone else out there that has used something different, maybe slightly cheaper? Anyone know of someone in Melbourne would be great.

I believe the Pedders kit is the same as the D2 coilovers just branded differently.

I have heard they can be particularly harsh.

I have the Bilstein struts and springs from the JZA80 supra and cost me $500.

I got them fitted for $250, so all up cost me $750.

Ride and handling is much better and my old air struts are leaking oil!

Hi Damian,

When you say harsh do you mean just in the ride factor or that plus the extra strain the ride may have on the other components? I really am not a fan of the stock system so feel this might be my only choice. Thanks for the info Daniel, and yes I am the front right is leaking on mine as well which has probably softened the bushes...

The D2 coilvoers are just very poor quality

There are many many more spring and shock combos that are legal and still comfortable. About 5 diff choices or more, ranging from $700 and up
