Bigger radius rims usually reduces the ride quality a bit as there is less tyre sidewall to absorb the shocks.

Greg

For JZZ30 Oct 1992 to Jan 1994 the part is "Plate, Tire Pressure Caution", part number 42661-24101 for the standard plate or 42661-24131 for the optional tyres (225/16). The latter is appropriate to your TT.

There's a online Russia based Parts Catalogue in English which I've seen Don point to in the past.
The placard I've seen used was from a US/Euro 1993+ JZA80 2JZ-GTE 6 speed Supra - factory 17x8 / 235/45/17 front and 17x9.5 / 255/40/17 rear wheels/tyres.

Manny the on-line catalogue is on this site.

If you go "Test Post" area, it's in my post about 3 or 4 down.
Perhaps the url could be moved to the Soarer "useful Info" dept?

Correction, I've shifted it to the "Soarer Specifications and Useful Information" section.

Hello

On my Soarer Limited V8,
I have 235 45 ZR17 on the rear,
yesterday, I put 2 new 215 45 R17 on the font for the sake of vehicle identity check inspection.

The tire placard on the vehicle was chipped away, so couldn't tell what is the factory recommended tire size.

should I leave it as it is, i.e.
215 45 R17 on front and 235 45 ZR 17 at the rear or should I match the rear by putting 235's at the front.

For the best Soarer performance / experience,Any suggestions for the best tire size on my supposed factory genuine Toyota 17" rims.

thanks

V8's came with 15" rims.
The 32 and TT came with 16" rims.
No Soarer came with 17" rims.

What you fit would also depend on the size of the wheels, are they all actually the same?

Actually, the seller in his listing quoted

"genuine Toyota 17” wheels"

so I assumed they were the original.

yes, all 4 wheels looks the same to me.

I already have the 235 on the rear.
I possibly could either leave the 215 on the front or put 225 or 235.

mine is the Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC400 GT Limited V8 Coupe.
thank you

Yours is a Toyota Soarer model UZZ31 - V8 Limited Coupe if it has air bag suspension.

Lexus SC400 only ever had coil suspension.

Not to mention it was also only ever left hand drive.

Put 235's all round. Makes it simpler to do tyre rotations if nothing else.

I use 225 on the front and 245 on the rear.

No particular reason other than it feels a bit nicer turning in with the smaller width on the front.

I run directionals so other than not being able to swap front to back rotation isn't an issue, and my tyres always seem to wear pretty evenly up front anyway.

There are laws about changing offset, width and total (wheel+tyre) circumference. There are no laws about wheel size provided the tyre size changes to keep total circumference more or less the same.

The principal illegality I see committed by forum members is in the offset, although it is only a subset of the follies.
