Just picked up a 1990 Celsior full C-F version as my new daily. Very impressive for the price!
Few questions: Where abouts do i buy replacement lcd's for climate control? Steering goes in/out but not up/down, is this a common fault i can fix or one for the auto-elec? Can anyone take a photo of their tyre placard for 16inch rims for me?(93+ i think) Is there any reason why at right on half a tank the bowser thinks its full?
Cheers!

1) C-F's with rear aircon don't have available LCD replacements If you find information contrary to this let me (and all the other C-F owners know!)
2) No idea, mine works fine? Could be a dead motor, could be an unplugged motor, could be a dead switch?
3) Can't help there, but they are 16x7.
4) Could be the way you hold the nozzle, could be the dodgy ULP flap that had to be installed in compliancing not letting air out quick enough. Mine does something similar occasionally, couldn't say how full the tank was though.
Just a few more points to save you asking questions later.
The jap symbol button for the aircon puts a bias for the centre vents to the rear
The jap symbol button on the stereo puts on japanese traffic channel, unless here (assuming you have stock deck still)
Jap sticker in the boot next to the on/off switch just says to turn off before jacking up car (turns the airbags/air compressor off). Its pretty essential you do this too.
Jap symbols on wiper stalk are for extra washer bottle that you are supposed to put some form of degreaser in (from what I was told).

Managed to fill it up, just have to tilt it a bit to get more air in there. Only mod i have planned is modify a fridge into the rear centre console or stacker position other than that the hands are tied, its not too slow anyway as-is.
Dodgy camera phone doesn't do it justice(they are 18's not 16's )

Awesome looking Celsior you have there Gerard. Congratulations on the purchase.
Andrew - Why is it essential to turn the compressor off when jacking up the car? I have never done it before... Would it be ideal to reset the airbags computer? How is that done?

It's essentual to turn the air suspension off as other wise when you jack it up the pots in each corner think the car is high [ as the wheels will be hanging down ] and it will try to lower the suspension !! This can result in damage . Haven't you noticed that some times when you get out you get a hissing sound from the front ? That's the computer setting the car down a bit as it went up when you got out . Easiest safe way is to where possible jack the car up under the struts , this way it keeps the weight of the body the same as the wheel being on the ground .

Rich - Yes I have noticed when getting out the car compensates for the height change... But when jacking the car up, if the car is turned off, how can it try to compensate while the car is up in the air? How can you do a full reset of the air suspension computer?

As a note Gerard I get stuff of Japan Yahoo actions and have sourced a replacement C-F package LCD screen complete that hasn't bled out , they range in price from $100.00 to $250.00 landed in Aus . Electrical parts from that source are cheap as of course the cars are not on the road over there anymore .

The suspension ecu doesn't know the car is in the air. All it knows is that the sensors are saying its way to high, so it will let the air out of the struts to lower the car.

The car self levels [ caused me no end of upsetness when I first had the car as my driveway has an angle sideways , so when I got out of the car I had more gap tyre to guard on the left side than the right , finally realised the car was just setting itself level !! ] I don't know what the time limit is for that after the key is off , might be a one go type of thing but if you jack it up and have the wheels hanging it will try to lower the car by letting air out . Brendon just disconnecting the earth lead on the battery for 10 mins or so will reset the suspension ECU . Sorry also Gerard for Hi-Jacking your thread !!

From what i have read its a heat thing too. My rear window is blacked out already so having the mirror set to dark is pointless anyway making it near impossible to see.

My car has 12% tint on it when I bought it, and looking out the rear of the car (once it was overcast or even slightly darker than midday) was near impossible even with the mirror on light.
I've now got 18% tint and its much better.
Do be honest I don't think I've ever put the mirror to dark?

I love my limo tint !! It's the same on the rear windows and not much lighter on the front windows , it's great for car security and the kids love it , not to mention the interior stays 10 to 20 degrees cooler in the sun . Only prob is when reversing at night I need to wind the windows down so I can use the side mirrors !! Most people refer to my machine as a MSC [ Mafia Staff Car !! ] Also Gerard I was talking about Japan Yahoo , you can't buy off there unless you have an account and some-one to send it too who will forward it on , as most sellers won't ship internationally .
