Having problems with the column adjustment on my Celsior, it works but it doesn't! When switch is activated sometimes the column will tilt and adjust up or down, sometimes it wont do anything. Can this be fixed? And how? I looked and saw this post, http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/9739/103425.html?1159611456 but I dont think the issue is the same, can anyone help with this pls

Your problem is most likely the same as your link . The ECU measures current draw and if it's wrong it won't work or only now and again , had same prob myself . So check the washer thing first as it probably needs doing and it's free to do !

Just a note about the washer fix. I found simply reversing the cog wheel fixed the issue, must get a little wear on the teeth. Flip it over for another 20 years of use.

Finally had a go at it today, not that hard in the end to pull everything apart and back together again. My gear wheel looked fine, was not worn, maybe the lack of use in the last 21 years. The issue seems to be another. Dismantled the switch, and it seemed ok aswell. I believe that my problem could be in the tilt motors or a switching solenoid/box somewhere in the footwell. I tried to follow the clicking noise to see where it came from with not nuch success. The up and down tilt motor works fine, just intermittent, but the tilt away motor sends me tiny smoke signals when I use it for more than a second. I figure this may be a bit of an issue. hehehe
