Hi guys,
I have a new (old- 1994) clean, straight Mitsubishi Delica fresh from QLD in my driveway next to a 1UZ Soarer and embarking on a mating program...
Looking for a bit of guidance to get my 1UZ started...
Soarer I bought for donor engine to the V8 Delica project has blown gearbox and the box has been removed. Turn the key and I have fuel pump sound, but "charge" on the dash... not immobiliser problem (I'm guessing as he was driving it till g/box blew and it unlocks the door and flashes the lights). I'm guessing it says Charge because engine not running yet (Alternator not charging). Thought it might need the park lockout switch connected but the gear selector switch off the g/box doesn't seem to plug in anywhere on the g/box loom?! Is there an adaptor cable or something I am missing? Is there anything else needs to be connected from the gearbox to get it started?
Yeah it's definitely going be at least 6 months in the build or more but keen to know the motor is working before I go any further...
Need 3" body lift on Delica to clear firewall and get g/box to mate to transfer case (Yes definitely still 4WD!!), install motor and gearbox, fabricate exhaust, wire it, engineers report and register... Sounds so easy when I write it like that!! Lots of skinned knuckles and swearing to go in between... Years ago I had a Holden Shuttle van with Leyland 4.4 (Engineered) so looking to get that feeling again
Guessing I might be on Soarer forum a bit with curly questions...
