I've become increasingly more suspicious of this tick my 1UZ has at idle.

I thought it sounds like a crank related noise, it seems to come from around the oil pan area of the car and disappears once the engine gets up to revs above 1000rpm or so

My exhaust welder reckons it could be a crank bearing on its way out...

Take a listen to this clip.

Maybe its the stainless steel pipe extension on the sump oil feed pick up contracting...

Oh well I shall just keep my eye on it whatever it maybe... It runs too well to worry!

I have noticed a loud knocking noise on mine after supercharging, was very concerned I had knock problems but after searching I found the Accessories belt tensioner is "bouncing" and making a loud knocking sound when it returns to position, The pulley isn't all the way in the return position so I'm hoping a longer belt will sort the problem.
