Hi I'm new to this site having just got myself a 91 v8. I'm wanting to know for various reasons the value (and/or what you have seen the items sell for) of a few parts if anyone could help me.

To Sell
1) The EMV unit itself (working good cond)
2) Amplifiers
3) CD changer (not loading)
To Buy
1) The climate control unit (non emv)
2) The lower drivers door trim (part with the handle) - not including electrics

If anyone could indicate values of any of these would greatly be appreciated.

Cheers

There is a dude selling one on boostcruising for 800...

Pretty steep for a EMV i believe.

1. EMV $80 (no history and not checked in person) -> $800 (history of repairs/fixes and working 100% and presents well/perfect)
2. Amp ? (possibly nothing)
3. CD changer (I assume from an EMV car so it's worth a *little* more than non-EMV) with cartridge and working $100, not working $20? (or the value of the cartridge)

1. ?
2. depends on trim colour (and year of car) used spruce early ones maybe $100-$200, black late model ones maybe $400

(Others - feel free to refute these estimates)

Why are you selling these items? In what condition are they? What does "working good cond" mean in terms of pixel failures? Is this your first post?

I can help you in one respect. A CD changer which will not load discs is worth zilch, unless you mean the head is not aligned in which case it has value whereas the cassette itself has value anyway. Perhaps you could explain the symptoms better.

On a side note, it is good to see someone destroying another UZZ31 because it improves the value of those which retain good EMVs (which cost about $4K new, if still available).

I am selling these items as i dont see how they
will be of use to me as I have a new pioneer double din dvd from my last car ready to go in (thus needing the climate control unit), i cant read Japanese, no one listens to tapes anymore and the CD doesn't work.

As for the amps and CD changer, if the EMV goes they are useless aren't they?

I intend on replacing all speakers (with amps) and running new thicker wiring also. I was surprised with the quality of the standard sound system but I'm fussy, like big bass and clear everything else, i think i can do better :-).

As for the actual EMV, I cant see any pixel failures, the outside is tidy and i wouldn't have a problem with a buyer looking at it running.

And regarding Davids last comment, seriously if you can give me some reasons on why to keep the EMV in there I'm all ears and still open minded on whether to keep it or not.

Thanks for your input

- the guy on boostcruising for $800 is me, i put that price as i thought i saw a for sale post on this site with that price for same items, wasn't 100% though

The EMV with its touch screen is the heart of a UZZ31's ancillary systems. It controls audio (a very good system with DSP and multiple tone/ambience presets), television, navigation, HVAC, trip and fuel data and service reminder system. It gives direct access to fault data on the car without fiddling with paper clips or reading coded flashing lights. The main audio problem in the Soarer is its need for replacement of old speakers.

The trip computer is extremely handy, fuel consumption graphs, service schedules, I use all of these features and I don't read japanese either.

It's worth getting your radio unit chipped,(instead of expanders) to get correct frequencies for Australia.

Easy to install a DVD player to hook up to the screen.

The EMV screen is one of the reasons why I wanted a Soarer in the first place.

Each to their own.

Likewise, Dean. I ignored any model without one.
