Does anyone know why my 1jzgte idle on a 1000rpm when it is not in gear , i just cleaned the throttle body , it was idling on 700 before i cleaned it after i cleaned it , now it sits on a 1000rpm when it is not in gear , it is ok when driving but its not ok when idling
can someone tell me what the problem is

Is this when the car is at perfect running temperature.

My car idles at 1300rpms when not warmed up 100%.

How do you go about cleaning the throttle body? What do you clean and what to clean with? Search returned no results..

Carby cleaner. Take off the intercooler pipe from the throttle body and spray the hell out of the inside of the pipe. Move the flap by pulling the accelerator cable lever thingy on the side of the throttlebody and clean as much around the inside as you can.

Car might smoke a bit when you first start it, as it's burning off all the crap you just washed off.

Oh, and don't smoke while doing this... carby cleaner burns a little too well.

NULON throttle body cleaner is good, no white smoke on startup.. Instead its black.

The only two ingredients are;
- Acetone
- hydrocarbon propellant.

Basically stripping the metal of carbon, you can see it buildup and solidify as the acetone evaporates.
