Hi all,
The power steering suddenly does not work under approximately 1200rpm. When the car is stationary and I try to turn the wheel, the revs drop slightly as opposed to raising like they should. The pump itself was reconditioned about 20,000kms ago. The fluid has been flushed and changed, still no difference. While looking through the toyota online parts catalogue, I found three parts that are possible causes of this,(see pics). Now I have searched the forum and found someone with the same problem, but the info given did not solve it. I think it may be the pressure switch, what do you guys think? I have two questions, what is the power steering ecu's job exactly? I assumed the system was purely mechanical relying on the pump and a bunch of valves and the like. Also, the system has a oil pressure switch, so what is the air control valve assembly for? Thanks in advance for any replies.

Mick
