just wondering if those of you who have finished the manual conversion could please post up some pics of the interior (gearshift, pedals, etc).

just trying to see how neatly it all comes up.

cheers

precisely.

hadnt thought of leaving that gear selector surround in place, looks good.

next question - how fiddly was it to fit up the pedals?? particularly the clutch pedal......

welll....i've previously replaced the brake and accelerator pedals in a mini, so i'm guessing it cant get much harder/more fiddly than that.......

Its not that hard mate.
You need a small bodied drill to get into the clutch holes but apart form that, straight forward.
Just unclip the auto brake pedal and replace with the manual brake pedal. Do not remove the pedal assembly.

ok...i must have the most uncooperative toyota dealership in the world.

they were really NOT interested in helping me out at all here.

i was trying to order in the gear shift boot, and the boot surround...got the part number (or so i thought) off the link provided in this thread
http://soarercentral.com/sc-forum/messages/291/19247.html?1128566360

printed out the picture, took it in to my dealer with a copy of the parts diagram provided in the link above...

"oh no, we need your model/chassis number to look it up..."
"errmmm...but those codes will just tell you mine's an auto, and i've just explained i've done a manual conversion...surely you can just look up a manual 91 jzz30 tt, and order them using those part numbers? i've got my trim code and everything written here"
"nope, the way the parts cd from japan works is that we plug in your vehicle details, and then we look it up specific to your car....you'll need to get the vehicle details of the car the manual box came out of."
"ermmm...yes, well thats a 93 supra, so that wont be any help."
"sorry mate, we cant help you then"

so.

has anyone got a factory manual 91 tt, in the same colour trim as the one in th epic above? can i get your vehicle chassis details (the two jzz30xxxx number sequences) and i'll just take them into toyota and get him to look up your car?

or, can someone who either has a friendlier toyota dealer/has done a manual conversion and got this from toyota order me one from their toyota dealer, and then ship it across to me? i dont mind paying 20 bucks extra plus the postage and stuff.

or should i just go to an interior trim bloke and get one custom made?

they really arent interested in dealing with imports at my dealer.

Shane Dude.........all they need is a part number to plonk into their system.

Did the part number come up as invalid or something?

as i said - i walked in with a printout of the above pic, and of this one
Upload
and said i want this bit, and here is the part number on this tech diagram.

and he starts saying to me "well, no, we cant actually use that, we need to have your specific vehicles chassis numbers" etc....was just generally uncooperative and not interested as soon as he found out it was for an import.

Shane, I'll ask the guy I usually use tomorrow.

Maybe we can get him to contact your local Toyota dealer so they can supply it.

well, actually, i DID - till aunty neil came along and now i've cheated....

just bought the genuine brake pedal instead.

we were all ready to be cutting sections off the auto brake pedal and welding them to the supra pedal, or vice versa, or even just cutting the auto brake pedal in half, we were gonna wait til we had the pedals in front of us then decide...doing it this way kinda takes all the fun out of it really.

in fact, bugger it, i think i'll go and do up a custom one, fit that, then take it out and fit the genuine one, just so i can got through a few hours of swearing, back cramps, and singed fingers

Hehehehehe Shane, don't let the rounder guys tell you to take out the driver seat to install the pedals.

Drill the clutch pedal holes from the engine bay, just check there are no wires in the way inside. ( You will loose your cruise control, unless Neil gives away another secret to you)
Get on your back and twist.
