Hi Elizabeth,

few questions on those headlights. To my knowledge they're H1 bulbs. Is that correct?

Also is there room for 3 bulbs and 3 leds? Are all the bulbs H1 and are the led's wedge style parkers?

Also the angle eyes how are they hooked up?

Elizabeth, where are you sourcing all that shmiko gear!?! btw i think what Callum is referring to is that LHD cars have different headlights ie. they dont shine into oncoming traffic on the left...(but will project to the right=not quite right for aus)prob not legal but nice anyway

"Dont worry about what people say they are just traditionalists!!! " No, we are saying LHD lights are not correct for our roads and may be over bright for oncoming traffic.

Same as people who have 4 head/fog/whatever lamps on at the same time when at low beam. It's illegal.

Unless your mechanic looks at the shield INSIDE the lamp where the globe goes, he/she will see no difference.

Would a road worthy pick up that the headlights are pointing the wrong way? I think in NZ they only check the beam cutoff height, and dont check the left/right throw at all.

Well, 4 headlamps on at lo beam in NSW is illegal.

I would like to get one of those million watt spotters lamps so I can swivel it into the oncoming pr!cks eyes.

If people need 4 lamps to negotiate a lit street... they have such poor eyesight they should not be driving.

They do it to look cool, regardless of the glare to the oncoming traffic and the danger that causes.

BTW, Liz, your lights look great and I hope they make you happier with your car! You car is yours and anything you do to make you enjoy it is good.

Tell any dream stealers to shove off and get a life.

My rant is not directed at you in particular, I'm sure your mechanic will adjust the lamps so they don't dazzle.

If you really do want my opinion i think the headlights look rubbish. But dont let that stop you.

I've seen these installed and they have nothing on standard headlights with HID's.
Contrary to popular belief it seems, the main beam is not dispersed properly.

I'd buy HID's instead, or, save my pennies for something worthwhile.

Yeah, my WOF guy is good value I'm sure he'd let me take a look - I've never seen them using the test equipment, so have no idea how its used. I was pulled up years ago for having a light that was firing too high, but the same light was also shining way to the right as well and they never mentioned that. Never had any problems with Soarers.

I'm sorry Jeff, but I'm of the opposite opinion when it comes to this. As someone who drives with their headlights on all the time, during the day as well as at night, I fail to understand why a law is brought in to stop you from making your car as visible as possible to other road users.

Yes, I understand that they should not be overly bright or dazzling to oncoming traffic, but why it should be illegal to have your low beams and driving lamps lit at the same time bewilders me.

Businesses are allowed to place all sorts of bright, flashing neon advertising signs on the edge of the roads to distract our attention AWAY from the road - and yet drivers are not allowed to make their vehicles as visible as possible for other motorists.

Please note I'm talking about low-beam driving lamps, not yellow fog lights or high-beam spotties.

ON topic - Liz, nice work with the purchase. I'm sure these lamps will be a marked improvement on the stock, yellowed-out headlights we've all come to know and...love?? Depending on the style of your car, they could be a very nice addition and well suited to any other mods you have.

I think thats what he was talking about Shane. Of course i cant be sure though! ;)

I'm of the same opinion; keep the fogs off unless there is fog and high beams off when im getting close.
But driving around with parkers and low beams day or night is always a good idea.

Shane, it may come a surprise to you at 25 years of age, but your night vision will degrade amazingly from about 40 onwards.

Cars with over bright headlights coming at you create a dazzle effect on the older cornea.

Well, far point - so why not legislate the brightness of low-beam headlights, rather than AGAINST low-beam driving lights being on at the same time as your headlights?

And at what point does the degradation of night vision become a greater issue than that of headlight brightness? As I mentioned, there can often be plenty of bright advertising on the edge of the roads that will have an equally dazzling effect on your night-vision.

In the same way as I believe all motorbikes should have automatically activated headlights (ie the headlight is on whenever the bike is running), I'm all for being able to make your car as safely visible as possible - and I'm not even a country driver - and frankly, I consider being pulled over for having white, low beam driving lamps lit along with your head-lights on (ie most Volvos) completely ridiculous.

And no, I havent been done for this personally, so I havent just got sour grapes against it.
