Hi all ,

It's been quite a while since I've posted on the forum and I thought I'd share with you what I did for 3 days straight over the Christmas Break.

I decided to re-dye my wife's Soarer from Spruce to Black .

The total cost was $230.00 for the dye's and so on....and the labour was courtesy of me ..The complete interior was gutted

There a still a few things I need to tidy up but otherwise this stuff is strong and durable and so far so good...we shall see in six months.

Here are the pics

Thank Neil

I used a product from a company called Birdsall Leather located in Botany NSW
www.birdsall-leather.com.au.

The kit they supplied includes

1) Laceol: This is a leather conditioner and cleaner which is first applied.

2) Leather Wash: This is solvent based but what makes this even better is that they apply a black pigment in the wash which really lets the black penetrate the leather ready for the final coat.

3)Leather Dye : First dabbed on then sprayed

4)Clear Leather Sealer.

I used the leather wash on the vinyl parts of the car as well but fist tested it on a section to make sure the solvent wasn't to harsh...but it worked a treat.

The only area that didn't take were the plastic door scuffsso I'm looking out for a set , otherwise the dash came out better than expected.

There are plenty of colours to choose from , they will even match you existing colour if all you needed was to touch up , the choice is yours ...

looks excellent mate, was it hard to remove the dash? Is there any info anywhere on removing it?
I did a search on the archives with 85 pages of results most of which were references to blinky dash fixes etc.
