this has been done before.

You will get the usual "you get what you pay for" comments.

But i reckon just as long as you are not expecting HUGE power from these things are simply running them as a replacement of your twins and not push them too hard (if at all)... they may just perform ok.

Just remember labor is expensive and so are all the oil/water fittings.....

Would be a good idea to run a simple SAFC also with one of these i reckon.

oh and i used to have a wastegate that looked like that one (from just jap/crap) and it didnt work... so my turbo kept overboosting on the dyno when i was trying to get it tuned... turned out to be a very expensive excercise as i had to change to a TIAL wastegate ... labour costs killed me.

Personally, I'd get a Hypergear set up for a little bit more money.

That kit, you still need...

Intake pipe
Pod
GOOD wastegate
Intercooler piping mods
Oil line
Oil drain
Dump pipe
Heat wrap
Hosing
Silicon
Clamps
Gaskets
+ Heaps more stuff I can't think of right now

Plus... 440cc's, FMIC, boost controller, full exhaust, Emanage (minimum) shift kit (minimum)... and probably an LSD...

Then factor in $500 to have your stock turbos removed... Then another $1000 at least (minimum) to have everything fitted, then tuning of your ECU to make it run properly ect...

A $800 kit like that will cost HEAPS, I'm tipping at least $4000 minimum... Make sure you think it through properly... or else your funds will blow out and you could end up worse off.

FACT: with the money i spent making my chinese turbo work, i could of easliy bought a GCG kit and afforded the labour, or purchased a trust/greddy kit and fit 90% of the stuff myself.... that aside now...
:-)

a bare minimum i will use is HYPERGEAR or KKR, and even then you will face some issues, as with these official no name turbos, i at one stage had access to these chinese (straight from china)'t70's etc for $70 USD and a dual ballbearing VF34 style for $160 USD, wastgates for Under $40USD.....

point being, is in all honesty, dont bother with these no names, maybe a hypergear turbo, a second hand manifold and a tial wastegate (or turbosmart if you an get the 48mm for $550 like i did ) , then the drain line for around $100--ill get the stuff from earls for you if you cant souce them :-) and a GFB manual boost controller (these things kick ass :-) )

maybe then you can minimize the issues that i once faced, and BTW: the heat wrap and blanket is probably more important then the turbo itself + re-use the toyota manifold gaskets...

turbos are like a sound system........ buying the subwoofer (turbocharger) alone is the cheap part..... its everything else that adds up... :-)

No mate it will not fit.... Well the manifold won't that is,The rest of the kit will... but you will still need a manifold....

just for the record, i am using the same wastegate as pictured (from the same supplier + manifold, pretty much the same thing on ebay but minus the turbo)

It is holds boost great, never over boosted once! (period of one year)

Total labour = remove stock twins, install manifold, turbo, front mount, fuel pump = around the 800ish mark.

I can show you my invoice, if you like

And i am running a t04e but made by HKS (rebuilt by MTQ)

.... and i can show you my $$$$$$$ + invoice if you like too, no kit is 100% like the other, but you have a 1 in 5 chance of getting a spot-on fit kit from ebay, and a 1 in 10 chance of an ebay kit that will last more then one year, i take it you are one of the lucky few...... other more $$$ kits have less of a chance failure or issues arrising, but still arnt perfect....

my point, if you got 2k and want to take a risk, then yes, you may be laughing and have a weapon 1jz.... however, if this kit fails, expect its price multiplied by three.....that is all :-)
