i think the problem would be that the bit that gets tinted would be right where the globe is. the DBS lights are LED's which are placed in the section of the lights that is visable. so if you did do it to a soarer your tail lights wouldnt be very bright

could you just recess into the tail light plastic 1 or 2mm deep in a similar shape that looks good and then get a piece of thin plastic, paint match it to the rest of the body work and just glue it in.

I have thought about this for ages as I love the tail lights on the Aston. The easiest way I can think of doing it is to modify some supra style aftermarket tail lights.
You can buy a see through film to change change the colour of the light to what ever you want and then I would just paint the body coloured insert. All that would be left to do is modify the lights with LEDs.
Maybe someone can photoshop it so we can see what it looks like.

That would have been Richard Luong who totalled his car. He was working on them with Michael O'Driscoll another member on here. They had a fair bit figured out, but when Richards car was gone the motivation left.

Pretty happy with my 97 tail lights heh. Having owned a pre 94 model before I always felt that the stock lights were too plain and lego'ish. Just a suggestion to those out there =p
To drift from the topic, I do not see any soarers out there anymore (apprearance wise).
Either people are getting more affluent or the bad ones have been dumped at the wreckors.
